Baguette's Vietnamese Sandwich Shop review

I went to try the new sandwich shop on Washington, between 1st and 2nd today, it was good. I had a BBQ sandwich on wheat. It is the real deal, great bread, traditional Vietnamese fillings of pickled carrot, cucumber, cilantro and some pork too. The sandwich was $3.75. It didn't seem that spicy at the beginning, but it crept up on me and I really was happy to have a drink by the end. I didn't try any of their appetizers, but I'll take the wife back and split something with her next time.

My complaints centered about their seating, 3 little tables inside (all filled with one couple and their 2 small children today) and a couple more outside. If it is raining, you will need a car to eat in.

I'm not sure that I have had a better sandwich in the last few years at any price. This restaurant is a gem. Give it a try.

Anyone had anything else there? They had a Vietnamese selection of chips and drinks that looked good. Anyone tried the appetizers? The steamed pork buns looked great, when someone else ordered them.

Welcome to Corvallis - to me

My family and I have just moved to Corvallis, OR from Carbondale, IL. I have been a high tech nomad for many years and was in Seattle before that. Met my Washington raised wife in the lobby of Jones Farm (Intel's building in Hillsboro) and was in Silicon Valley before that.

I had been writing a little blog about Carbondale for about a year, had a reasonable readership built up and everything. I suppose that I'll not understand the workings for Corvallis for many years, if ever, like I do Carbondale, so I'll write about something else for now.

Feel free to comment, be happy to hear from you.
